Day Tour: South & North

About this service:

Starting along the south coast and then heading north, this tour combines some of the best views of two very different sides of the island: Câmara de Lobos, picturesque fishing village near to Funchal, visited and painted by Sir Winston Churchill. Cabo Girão, stunning views from this high sea-cliff and the glass 'Skywalk'. Ribeira Brava, a lively town with many cafes and small shops. Then we head north to: São Vicente, mountains, waterfalls, a pretty square and church. Ponta Delgada, a coastal parish still within the vicinity of São Vicente. Arco de São Jorge, a sheltered village backed by mountains which has a spectacular viewpoint. Santana, famous for its traditional A-framed, thatched houses. Faial, fantastic views of the coastline from above and also the glass walkways at the Guindaste viewpoint. Porto da Cruz, a pretty coastal village with a rum factory that you may wish to visit. Machico, many centuries ago it was the original capital city of Madeira before Funchal. We can hopefully see all or as many of the above places as we can, depending on how you wish to spend your day. If you'd like to include a short walk on a levada, then there will be places to take you along the way and suitable for every level, just let me know and I can find the right place for you. If you wish to walk, remember to bring suitable footwear. I can recommended good places to stop for coffee or lunch. It's a relaxed day out with many beautiful viewpoints. It will be my pleasure to show you the south and north of the island. NOTE: Online bookings for day tours have an automatic start time of 9am, but please know this can be flexible. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations or re-scheduled bookings will be accepted only up to 48 hours before the start of the original booking. All prices are based on your collection address being in and around Funchal. If you are based outside of Funchal, please note that there will be a surcharge to cover the extra travel time and this will vary depending on distance.
